Linus

  • First appearance: September 19, 1952
  • The benevolent, blanket-clutching philosopher always has a kind word for everybody…even his bossy older sister, Lucy. While he’s often the voice of reason in the neighborhood, Linus also believes firmly in the Great Pumpkin, and he suffers more than most when people (or pumpkins) let him down.

First appearance: June 2nd, 1991 Snoopy hides behind a tree. Linus sits, sucking his thumb and holding his blanket. Clomp! Snoopy grabs the blanket and runs. Linus is dragged after him. Snoopy holds the blanket in his mouth as Linus spins above him. Linus cries, "Aaugh!" as he flies through the air. Snoopy holds the blanket and sucks his thumb. Clomp! Linus runs past Linus, grabbing First appearance: August 22nd, 1984 Snoopy the World Famous Surgeon walks through the hall of the hospital. He thinks, "Here's the World Famous Surgeon on his way to the operating room . . ." Linus says, "Pardon me, Doctor . ." Linus asks, "Do you think diet is important after surgery?" Linus runs on the ice and says, "Snoopy, I've decided to take up a collection to send you to the olympics . ." Linus holds a jar and says, "And just to show you how sincere I am, I'm going to start by putting in a nickel . . . What do you think of that?" Snoopy hugs Linus and cries.   • The Great Pumpkin

    Every Halloween night Linus can be found in a pumpkin patch, awaiting the arrival of the Great Pumpkin.

  • Baseball

    Linus is known for making some incredible plays on the diamond, including turning two with short-stop Snoopy.

  • His blanket

    The epitome of security, Linus’s blanket also proves to be an excellent sling shot.
