Woodstock

  • First appearance: April 4, 1967
  • The fluttering, sometimes sputtering, little yellow bird is Snoopy’s sidekick, whether it’s as faithful mechanic to the World War I Flying Ace, stalwart secretary to the Head Beagle, or root beer drinking buddy. Chirping in a language only Snoopy understands, Woodstock and his feathered friends are never far from Snoopy’s doghouse.

Snoopy thinks,"The national anthem" They face each other and Snoopy thinks,"The faceoff" The shuffle on the birdbath and Snoopy thinks,"Woodstock First appearance: August 15th, 1982 Woodstock trots along. Snoopy lies atop his doghouse and looks over at Woodstock standing on the ground below him. He thinks,"All packed, huh?" Snoopy walks behind Woodstock and thinks,"Well, you'll have a good time..." They stop and he thinks,"If you get a chance, send me a postcard." Snoopy thinks,"So long little friend..." Woodstock and Snoopy hug. First appearance: January 9th, 1977 Woodstock and Snoopy are sitting atop the doghouse. The latter thinks,"Then she heard someone talking...." Woodstock knows that he is very small and inconsequential indeed. It’s a problem we all have. The universe boggles us…Woodstock is a lighthearted expression of that idea.
