Woodstock

  • First appearance: April 4, 1967
  • The fluttering, sometimes sputtering, little yellow bird is Snoopy’s sidekick, whether it’s as faithful mechanic to the World War I Flying Ace, stalwart secretary to the Head Beagle, or root beer drinking buddy. Chirping in a language only Snoopy understands, Woodstock and his feathered friends are never far from Snoopy’s doghouse.

First appearance: December 22nd, 1991 Snoopy walks along. Snoopy walks off the doorstep, carrying a sock. Woodstock sits in his nest. Snoopy offers the sock to Woodstock. Woodstock sits on the ground, surrounded by the remnants of his nest. he is dizzy. He looks around him. He walks. He speaks to Snoopy, who wears a baseball cap. Well, I don't know . . It's not very big . . ." Woodstock jumps down and looks in the doghouse. Snoopy leans over and thinks, "There's barely enough room to swing a cat . . ." First appearance: January 7th, 1979 Lucy storms through the house wearing a frown. She yells,"All right, everybody out of my beanbag chair!!" She stands next to the beanbag as Linus jumps out. She looks down at it and exclaims,"I said, everybody!" She sits and watches as Snoopy jumps out of the beanbag. As she leans back in the beanbag, she exclaims,"Apparently some people just don't listen! I First appearance: February 26th, 1980 Woodstock and Snoopy sit on the doghouse in the rain. Charlie Brown wears a raincoat and hat and says, "I called the humane society, and you were wrong." Charlie Brown continues, "They said they're not giving out free umbrellas to dogs and birds . . ." Woodstock knows that he is very small and inconsequential indeed. It’s a problem we all have. The universe boggles us…Woodstock is a lighthearted expression of that idea.
