Miss Othmar

red apple to symbolize Linu's teacher, Miss Othmar

FIRST APPEARANCE:

October 6, 1959

Linus refers to her as, “A gem among gems.” And he considers her the best teacher in the world. He quickly develops a schoolboy crush on Miss Othmar, but despite his devotion, he can never remember to bring eggshells from home for his big class project, to her eternal frustration. Miss Othmar briefly retires when she marries Mr. Hagemeyer, but she misses teaching and soon returns to the classroom. Linus can’t bring himself to address her by her married name, so continues to call her Miss Othmar.
