The Cat Next Door

FIRST APPEARANCE:
October 20, 1976
Snoopy is not a fan of cats. He has a particularly contentious relationship with World War II, aka “The Cat Next Door.” This vicious feline is known for his short temper, razor-sharp claws, and lack of appreciation for Snoopy and Woodstock’s cat jokes. With one mighty swipe, “The Cat Next Door” can reduce Snoopy’s doghouse to splinters. Except during the holidays, when he slashes the house into the shape of a festive Christmas Tree.
DID YOU KNOW:
"The cat [next door] is so outrageous that you could not draw him. It's easier to make the reader ask what kind of a cat is so ferocious that he could slash a doghouse totally in half. If you were to draw him, he would not be able to come up to this standard."
