The Pitcher’s Mound

a baseball pitcher's mound

FIRST APPEARANCE:

August 24, 1951

It's been covered in snow, dandelions, and has yet to see a winning streak, but the Pitcher's Mound is one of Charlie Brown's favorite places to be. At the start of every new baseball season, Charlie Brown steps onto the mound with a renewed sense of hope and confidence. He knows that this could be the season his team wins the title. Of course it's not long after the first pitch that Charlie Brown is knocked off the mound and out of his clothes... but the hope and confidence were nice while they lasted. Plus, it's not all bleak for the mound. Its mother thinks it's in Yankee Stadium.
